TREATING ADULTS WITH ADHD

Adults with ADHD experience lifelong struggles with organization, focus and productivity. These struggles complicate your life making even the most simple of goals hard to achieve. Difficulty taking care of daily tasks, meeting deadlines, and making decisions results in feelings of inadequacy, irresponsibility, and disappointment. Symptoms including inattention, unreliability, being late to appointments, or forgetfulness can hurt your personal relationships as well as your career advancement.

Treating Adolescents With ADHD Symptoms

Adolescents with ADHD experience increasing stress from the challenges of more demanding school and social schedules. Appropriate social skills, which seem automatic for some, are often a mystery for adolescents with ADHD. The ability to focus, organize, prioritize and manage time can become difficult. Behavior can appear abrasive and impulsive. Moods can be erratic, hostile or sometimes withdrawn or aloof. Many times, adolescents with ADHD seem inattentive, forgetful, annoying, and lazy. These behaviors can escalate to an inappropriate level. The risk of alcohol and substance abuse is substantially higher among adolescents with untreated ADHD.
